Why use Better Bins vs. cardboard?

You can buy cardboard boxes, but the wide range of sizes and prices can be overwhelming. After purchase, you must transport them, assemble with tape, and worry about moisture or crushing. Then you still need to collapse and dispose of them. Our reusable bins remove the hassle—no guessing sizes, no tape, and no disposal. When you’re finished, just return them.

What size are the bins?

Spacious and stackable: 25.2" L × 15.5" W × 11" H — perfect for packing efficiently.

What are the rental fees for bins and dollies?
  • Bins: $0.50 per bin per day
  • Dollies: $25.00 per week
  • Packing paper: $12.00 per 50-sheet pack

Full payment is required at the time of delivery. We accept DEBIT, MASTERCARD, VISA, CASH.

How much notice do you require to book?

Plan ahead to secure your bins. Our inventory is limited—please order early, especially during busy seasons. You can adjust your delivery date later if plans change (subject to availability).

If your closing date is delayed, we’re happy to reschedule with at least 24 hours’ notice.

For last-minute bookings, please call us first to confirm we can accommodate you before placing your order online.

How do I pay?

We accept Visa, MC, or Cash. Our drivers have mobile payment terminals and will collect payment upon delivery.

How will I know my order was received?

You’ll receive an email confirmation after submitting your order. Before your scheduled delivery and pickup, our team will email to confirm timing and address details.

Am I required to be present for delivery or pickup?

Yes. A person 18 years of age or older must be present to receive delivery, sign for the order, and be available at pickup.

Is there a delivery or pickup fee?

Delivery / pickup fee will apply and are automatically added at checkout:

  • $15.00 within the town of Lindsay
  • $25.00 outside of Lindsay but within the City of Kawartha Lakes
  • $40.00 to Peterborough
How are Better Bins delivered and picked up?

Delivery

  • We deliver to your home or office on your scheduled date. An adult (18+) must be present.
  • Bins and supplies are placed where you prefer (home, office, or garage) and counted to confirm your order.
  • Signature confirms condition and quantity.

Pickup

  • On your pickup date, please have bins clean, empty, and stacked in one accessible area.
  • We inspect and count items; missing, damaged, or unreturned items are documented with signature.

Replacement fees: Bin $65 • Dolly $125

What’s the process for extending my rental?

Contact us as soon as possible before your pickup date and let us know the extra time needed. Additional days are billed at the same daily rate. Extensions are subject to availability.

Can you assure me that my items will be safe?

While nothing is 100% damage-proof, our durable plastic crates offer superior strength and stability compared to cardboard. Proper packing still matters—use bubble wrap, packing paper, or padding for fragile items.

Can I write directly on the rental bins?

Please avoid permanent markings or alterations. We provide labels—use the plastic sleeve on each bin to note room and contents without damaging the crate.

Are longer rentals available?

If you need more than two weeks, email us and we’ll arrange a suitable timeframe based on availability.

What is your cancellation policy?
  • No charge up to 24 hours before scheduled delivery or pickup.
  • After delivery: refund minus delivery/pickup charges and a $50 restocking fee.
Is your service available outside the local area?

We serve the City of Kawartha Lakes region, Peterborough, and nearby areas. If you’re outside our normal zone, reach out—we’ll do our best to accommodate.

What are the replacement fees for lost or damaged items?

We inspect and count all equipment at drop-off and pickup.

  • Bin damage or replacement: $65
  • Dolly replacement: $125

If you later find missing crates, we’ll pick them up and issue a credit minus our pickup fee and any additional rental time incurred.

Do I need to clean the bins before returning them?

Bin care & return guidelines

  • Please return bins in the same condition you received them.
  • No pets in bins—excessive pet hair may incur a per-bin cleaning fee.
  • Keep bins indoors; excessive dirt may incur a per-bin cleaning fee.
  • No packing tape or adhesive on bins; residue may incur a cleaning fee.
  • No tape needed—our lids interlock to stay closed.

Don’t worry about deep cleaning—we sanitize every bin with eco-friendly products between rentals.

Can I purchase Better Bins, or are they rental-only?

Our bins are rental-only. Replacing stock requires large, costly minimum orders, which is why lost/damaged fees help recover restocking costs. Bin replacement: $65 each.

Snow days, extreme weather?

We want to bring you your Better Bins! The weather can sometimes prevent this from happening safely. Our policy is: if the roads are covered with snow or if its too dangerous to make our deliveries, we will immediately call you to rechedule. As soon as it's safe to deliver, we will be back on the road.
